10 km after Pozanti and the snow
started. It wasn't until we had crossed
the last range going towards Nigde that
it got tricky. Lots of slush being thrown
up on our windshields and just cold
enough to freeze it almost immediately. I
really don't like to be reminded why I
don't like driving in winter!

Our Christmas holiday long weekend gave a few of us a white Christmas to remember. Three packed cars set off on
Saturday morning for a drive up to Goreme in Cappadocia. 9:00 am was the nominated start time and it really wasn't
all that long after that we got away. Up the tollway to Pozanti it was high cloud and clear, giving us spectacular views
of the Toros Mts., snow capped and ready for more to come down.
So the normal three or so hour drive turned into more like five and we arrived at our hotel to be greeted with the
scenes below. A true sugar frosted fairyland.
